UWRF PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT GRANT PROPOSAL GUIDELINES/APPLICATION FORMS |

| 1. Purpose of the program: To support faculty and teaching academic staff to participate in professional conferences, presentations, exhibits and performances. | |
| 2. Priority will be given to those proposals which show clear indication that a research project, paper, or professional presentation has been or will be made by the applicant in conjunction with the travel request. | |
| 3. All proposals will be evaluated by the Faculty Professional Development Committee of the Faculty and Academic Staff Development Board. | |
| 4. Travel must occur during the period between July 1 of the current year and June 30 of the following year. Only one travel grant award can be made in a grant year cycle even though there may be two solicitations for proposals (i.e., ch0ose your grant requests carefully). | |

5. Iinternational
travel (which excludes Canada or the Caribbean area, but includes Hawaii & Alaska) is normally limited to $1300, whereas national travel (continental US & most of Canada) is limited
to no more than $1000. * However, full funding assumes that the traveler is presenting at the function. Those who are participating (as a chair, moderator etc. with their name in the program) will be limited to 60% of the limits described above. Individuals who are only attending may receivefunding up to 25% of the limits described above pending approval and budgetary constraints. |

Do not submit other documents with your application. You will ultimately need to justify expenses, but only when applying for reimbursement. Please submit one printed copy of your application to the Director of Faculty and Student Academic Support Programs, 104 North Hall. * If there are special circumstances and you are uncertain into which category your paricular trip falls, please talk to the Director of Faculty and Student Academic Support Programs, 104 North Hall. ** Academic year 2004-2005, you will be reminded once of this condition if you submit the wrong form, or submit it the wrong way. |
