University of Wisconsin - River Falls Foundation Scholarships
All College of Agriculture, Food & Environmental Sciences Students:
CAFES majors only need to fill out ONE application form to be considered for all scholarships: CAFES Scholarship, UNLESS a specific application is listed with the scholarship.

Martin Abrahamsen Scholarship:
Awarded to students enrolled in the College of Agriculture, Food & Environmental Sciences. Student must have a minimum 3.0 GPA.
Stanley J. and Lois Atkinson Bednarczyk Scholarship:
Awarded to residents of Clark, Taylor, or Chippewa counties in WI, who have attained sophomore status at the time of application.
Abe Benson Memorial Scholarship:
Awarded to an outstanding student in the College of Agriculture, Food & Environmental Sciences.
Gerhardt (Doc) Bohn Memorial Scholarship:
Support full time students in CAFES; demonstrated interest in tractors, engines, and farm machinery through participation in a sanctioned internship with a manufacturer or supplier of Off Highway equipment and/or machinery prior to date of scholarship application OR current or past member of UWRF Quarter Scale Design Tractor Team; student member of ASABE; students with interest in graduate studies in Agriculture or BioSystems Engineering; completed 30 credits at UWRF.
Archie J. Brovold Scholarship:
Awarded to a junior or senior who was a Buffalo County, Wisconsin resident at the time of graduation from high school and is pursuing a major in the College of Agriculture, Food & Environmental Sciences; however, freshmen and sophomore students will not be excluded from consideration.
CAFES Alumni Scholarship:
Awarded to an incoming freshman or transfer student. Student must be at least 25 years old or have parental responsibilities, at the time of application. Student must have a first major of CAFES. Student must provide graduating class size and rank, or evidence of GED, ACT or SAT test score and the year the test was completed, and a transcript from a post-secondary program/institution of higher learning(if a transfer student). Student must provide a statement of past experiences and future goals. This scholarship is renewable each year, for a maximum of four yearsbased on the following conditions: maintains first major of CAFES, reapplies annually, maintains a minimum course load of nine (9) credits per semester and has a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Thomas J. Carmichael Memorial Scholarship:
Awarded to students who have obtained junior, senior or graduate student status. Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Must be majoring in Horticulture, Agricultural Education, Dairy Science or Crop and Soils with a Sustainable Agriculture Option. May be renewed for a second year at the discretion of the scholarship committee.
CHS Foundation University Scholarship:
Awarded to a sophomore, junior or senior. Students are eligible to receive the scholarship multiple years. Students will be working towards an agricultural-related degree to pursue a career in agribusiness or production agriculture. Agribusiness is defined as working in any aspect of an agriculturally related business. First preference given to students with an interest in agricultural-based cooperatives. Students shall demonstrate academic ability. Students will possess leadership qualities demonstrated through university, community and industry involvement.
Central Livestock Scholarship:
Awarded to a junior or senior with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better, is a resident of one of the following states: MN, WI, ND, SD, IA, with a major in Agriculture, and the student and/or family is a customer or member of the Central Livestock Association.
Norman L. Christianson Memorial Scholarship:
Awarded to a student pursuing a course of study that will prepare them for a career in the field of Agriculture or Agricultural Education. Must have attained junior or senior status and be in good academic standing. Preference will be given to a student who has graduated from a Wisconsin high school and resided, during that time, in Wisconsin.
Mel H. Cohee Student Leader Conservation Scholarship:
Applicants must be members of the UW-RF Student Chapter of the Soil and Water Conservation Society. Before receiving the scholarship, the recipient must have membership in both the local and national Soil and Water conservation Societies. Applicants' field of study must be in one of the following agriculture or natural resources programs: Ag Education, Conservation, Land Use Planning, Crop/Soil, Ag Business Ag Engineering Technology, Environmental Science or Agriculture Studies. Recipients will be selected based on their overall involvement and interest in natural conservation. Receipt of the scholarship in a previous year shall not affect an applicant's eligibility to be a recipient in subsequent years.
The Richard J. and LaVerne M. Delorit Scholarship:
Awarded to a sophomore, junior, or senior enrolled as a full-time student in the College of Agriculture, Food & Environmental Sciences with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or better, has demonstrated leadership abilities and/or involvement in campus student activities, community organizations and/or civic and service organizations.
James C. Dollahon Bequest:
Awarded to junior or senior in the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences who is a U.S. citizen with a 2.0 minimum cumulative GPA. This scholarship is provided by the estate of a 1957 River Falls graduate who had the utmost respect for Dean J. C. Dollahon as a man and an educator.
James C. Dollahon Memorial Scholarship:
Awarded to a full time student in the College of Agriculture, Food & Environmental Sciences with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. Applicants should have demonstrated leadership abilities and/or involvement in campus student activities, community/civic/service organizations.
Farm Credit Services of Wisconsin Scholarship:
Awarded to a junior or senior (60 credits or more earned by Fall of the year in which they receive the scholarship) student with a 3.0 GPA. Must have an interest in cooperative agri-business and/or agricultural finance. Must have demonstrated leadership abilities and/or involvement in campus student activities, community organizations, and/or civic or service organizations (such as 4H or FFA). Must be a permanent resident within the territory served by the Wis. Farm Credit Associations.
Irving W. Gerhardt Scholarship:
Awarded to a sophomore or junior in CAFES with an agriculture or conservation major.
Roger J. Gerrits Scholarship:
Must have a major in the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences.
Wallace Henry Jerome Agriculture Annual Scholarship:
Awarded to one student with an Agricultural Studies, Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Education, Agricultural Engineering Technology, Crop and Soil Science, or Animal Science major. To qualify for this scholarship, the student must complete the essay section of the application, briefly explaining his/her leadership positions and activities in high school, college and in the community, and how this involvement led to an agriculture major. Student must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Student must be a first semester junior (60 credits completed) in the fall semester of the year in which the scholarship is provided. Must be a U.S. citizen. The scholarship will be renewed, for spring semester of the junior year and again for the senior year, if the recipient remains eligible.
Joseph N. and Margaret Johnson Memorial Scholarship:
Awarded to a deserving sophomore in the College of Agriculture, Food & Environmental Sciences.
Kuschel Agricultural Scholarship:
Awarded to majors with the following order of preference: Dairy Science, Ag Education, Production Agriculture.
W. F. Lusk Memorial Scholarship:
Awarded to a junior or senior in the agricultural sciences with a high scholastic average.
Wayne B. and Iva E. Martin Scholarship:
Awarded to a sophomore, junior, or senior with a declared major in the College of Agriculture, Food & Environmental Sciences in an Agricultural related field or is following a Pre-Veterinary course of study.
John May, A. N. Johnson, and Dale Swenson Memorial Scholarship:
Awarded to students majoring in the College of Agriculture, Food & Environmental Sciences.
Mark S. Murray Memorial Scholarship:
Awarded to a junior or senior with a major in Agricultural Education or in Agriculture Studies with an emphasis in Journalism.
The Petersons Valley View Farm Annual Scholarship - Renewable:
The student applying for renewal of the scholarship must remain enrolled in the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences with a minimum GPA of 3.25 GPA.
Jan Radcliffe Memorial Scholarship:
Awarded to a U.S. citizen majoring in Animal Science, Agricultural Business, or Agriculture Studies with a GPA of 2.5 or higher with at least two semesters remaining.
Gary E. Rohde CAFES Alumni Association Scholarship:
Awarded to students majoring in the College of Agriculture, Food & Environmental Sciences. At least one of the awards should be given to a deserving sophomore.
Shawano County Farm Progress Scholarship:
Awarded to a resident of Shawano County, WI enrolled in the College of Agriculture, Food & Environmental Sciences at UW-RF, UW-Platteville, or the College of Agriculture & Life Science at UW-Madison, with a GPA of 2.75 or higher.
Richard J. Starkey Memorial Scholarship:
Awarded to a junior or senior from Pierce or Barron County, WI majoring in Plant and Earth Science or Animal Science who demonstrates financial need, is considered hard working, has an interest in the field of study, and demonstrates perseverance.
Earl and Marguerite Sumner Scholarship:
(1)Foreign agricultural student scholarships; (2)U.S. agricultural student scholarships with foreign agricultural student scholarships being given first priority.
Kenneth Wallin Cooperatives Scholarship:
Awarded to a student with demonstrated interest in cooperative organization or activities as evidenced by past experience or occupational goals.
Greg and Donnette Wheelock Agriculture Scholarship:
Awarded to a student majoring in CAFES in any field; preference given to student that has spent his/her pre-college years living and working on a farm; may be an incoming freshman or a freshman, sophomore, junior or senior standing undergraduate; cumulative GPA 2.667 or higher; continue education at UWRF; demonstrated financial need; everything else equal preference to Waseca County, Minnesota or Blue Earth County, Minnesota high school graduate; student must carry full work load if not employed with preference carrying heavy course load and/or involved in non-sports extra curricular activities exhibiting ambition, leadership or the good of others.
Winfield Solutions Annual Scholarship Fund:
Must be at least a sophomore with a minimum 2.0 GPA when applying. Must be majoring in the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences and registered in CROP 270 or 370 or AGEC 270 or 370 in the summer semester. Student must apply and be accepted for a Winfield Solutiions Summer Internship.
Wisconsin State Cranberry Growers Association Scholarship :
Awarded to a junior or senior majoring in Agricultural Business, Agricultural Engineering Technology, Agricultural Studies, Biotechnology, Crops and Soils, Food Science and Technology, Horticulture or Marketing Communications. Student must be in good academic standing. Preference given to a student who has been personally involved or has immediate family members who are involved in the production and/or processing of cranberries as an agronomic crop. Please note in the biography section of your application if your family is involved in the production and/or processing of cranberries.
Wisconsin State Grange:
Awarded to a sophomore, junior, or senior with at least 2 semesters remaining, with a minimum 2.75 GPA, who has a family or personal affiliation with the Grange.
Wanda “Mom” Ziegelman Leadership Scholarship:
Awarded to a sophomore, junior, or senior in the College of Agriculture, Food & Environmental Sciences and a member of Alpha Gamma Rho with at least two semesters remaining, with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher who demonstrates leadership abilities through participation in agricultural organizations, and has made an overall contribution to Alpha Gamma Rho.
