College of Arts and Sciences - All College
Dean Neal Prochnow Arts and Sciences Scholarship:
Student must have declared major in College of Arts and Sciences, currently enrolled as a first time freshman at UWRF and who will be returning for the next academic year. The student must have a clear plan for graduation from UWRF (verified by student advisor) and must be active in department and university activities, or have begun to participate in research or creative activities in the department. A letter of support must be provided from a faculty member in their declared major. Preference can be given to first generation college students or students of color.
Erling Eibs Scholarship:
Awarded to a science student who is a junior or senior.
Carmen Evenson Scholarship:
Awarded to a student who graduated from Goodhue, Chetek, or Cameron High School. Student must have attained sophomore, junior or senior status, have a minimum GPA of 3.0 in the major field of study. Preference given but not limited to students majoring in mathematics, physics, chemistry or any science area.
Hedahl Scholarship:
- Must have a declared major in the College of Arts and Sciences
- Preference for a minority student or first generation college student
- Preference for an incoming freshman
- Student is required to complete an essay explaining his/her qualifications. This scholarship will not award for 2010-11.
Arnold and Mary Nord Memorial Scholarship:
Based on scholarship, financial need, and potential for contributions in life, this scholarship is awarded on a rotating basis to a student who will be a junior or senior with a major in one or more of the following disciplines: Biology (2009-2010), Chemistry (2010-2011), Economics (2011-2012), and Physics (2008-2009). While the selection shall generally be according to the major in the year indicated, the donor reserves the right to select from all applications in any given year. Therefore, all majors may apply for the scholarship in any given year when the applicant meets all other criteria.
Barbara Preston-Broesder Studio Arts Enlightment Scholarship:
Provide an award to a student in their junior or senior year with a major in biology, chemistry, pre-medical, physics or math. The recipient must have successfully completed one art course. Preference will be given to a student who has completed a studio arts course. Financial need may be a consideration but is not a requirement.
