University of Wisconsin - River Falls Foundation Scholarships

Chemistry

 

Jon and Metta Belisle Chemistry Scholarship:
Awarded to a student who has graduated from a Wisconsin high school; pursuing a major in Chemistry; may be freshman, sophomore, junior or senior; must show strong performance academically; and demonstrate a financial need.

BioDiagnostics Scholarship:
Awarded to one student with a Chemistry major. Student must be a sophomore (30 credits) at the beginning of the semester for which the award is made.  Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Preference will be given to academic excellence over financial need.
The scholarship is renewable for three additional years if the student meets the following criteria: Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0, remain in the major and complete a minimum of 30 credits per year.

Ina and John Hill Chemistry Research Grant:
Awarded to a Chemistry major of at least sophomore status with high academic standing and an interest in conducting research in chemistry. The recipient is expected to participate in a research project in chemistry under the direction of a member of the chemistry faculty during the year for which the award is made.

Gary Klecker Memorial Scholarship:
Provide support to an undergraduate chemistry major in his/her junior or senior year.  Must have a minimum GPA of 2.8.

Tadeusz Pala Memorial Scholarship:
Awarded to a junior enrolled in secondary education chemistry or broad field science (pursuing physical science certification) degree program with a cumulative GPA of 2.95.  Financial need should be considered.  During the year for which the award is made, the student has to be enrolled in TED 212 or TED 474.  If in any given year, the above criteria cannot be met the award should be made to an incoming freshman planning to major in chemistry with a composite ACT of 27 or higher.

Lawrence W. Scott Memorial Scholarship:
Awarded to a sophomore (during the year of the award) majoring in chemistry who has demonstrated a high degree of excellence in the field of chemistry through academic performance and participation in extracurricular activities associated with Chemistry.

Ted and Georgia Setterquist Scholarship:
Awarded to a Chemistry major who has completed at least 60 credits with a minimum GPA of 3.2 and demonstrates potential for graduate school admission.

Richard and Grace Swensen Scholarship:
Awarded to a student majoring in Chemistry. Student must be classified as a junior (60 credits earned by Fall of the year in which they receive the scholarship). Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater. Must plan to continue his/her education at UW-River Falls.

Dr. Henry Tranmal Scholarship:
Awarded to a sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student pursuing a degree in Chemistry who plans to continue at UW-RF. Also awarded in Biology and Physics.
