Psychology
Drs. Clifford and Carole Mottaz Scholarship:
Awarded to a student who is transferring into UW-River falls and is in good academic standing. Student must provide a two paragraph statement covering their career goals and why they believe they merit the scholarship. Preference should be given to a student who intends to major in sociology, anthropology or criminal justice. If there is not a suitable applicant in one of these three areas, a psychology major may be selected.
**This scholarship is not available for the 2010-11 year**
Psychology Department Scholarships:
OUTSTANDING MAJOR:
This scholarship recognizes an outstanding psychology major. To be eligible for the scholarship a psychology major must have earned 75 credits at the time of application and graduate in the following academic year. Applicants for this scholarship must provide an essay addressing each of the following: academic achievement, involvement and leadership (department/campus and/or community), research experience and how in the future they plan to utilize the learning experiences obtained in psychology courses at UW-River Falls.
ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT:
This scholarship recognizes outstanding academic achievement. Applicants for this scholarship must provide an essay addressing their academic achievement. Applicants may comment on their GPA, academic awards, recognition or honors received, and research experience.
PROMISING NEW MAJOR:
This scholarship recognized the academic performance and contributions of a student with fewer than 60 credits earned at the time of application. Applicants for this scholarship must provide an essay commenting on their academic performance, department/campus or community involvement and leadership. Available to psychology majors with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 who have completed 45 total credits, 9 of which are in the major; strengths in the following three areas: academic performance, research, and involvement or service in departmental organizations.
