Health & Human Performance
Ben and Ailene Albertson Memorial Scholarship:
Awarded to a student with a minor in Outdoor Education who has demonstrated a commitment to the values of outdoor education by personally practicing outdoor education ethics and practices and by sharing outdoor education values and skills with other. Cumulative GPA and financial need will also be considered.
JoAnn Barnes Memorial Scholarship:
Awarded to a junior or senior pursuing a degree in HHP based on scholarship as well as active participation in extra curricular activities, including church, community, as well as university based activities. Recipient will posses a high potential of completing the HHP degree. Essay required on why applicant thinks he or she is qualified.
Laird Dance Scholarship:
Awarded to a sophomore, junior, or senior pursuing a degree at UWRF who is an active member in the UWRF Dance Theater. A recipient may be eligible more than one year.
Jenny Gondeck Memorial Scholarship:
Awarded to a student majoring in Physical Education. The student must be involved in extra-curricular activities and have a minimum GPA of 2.75. Preference will be given to a female student.
Carol LeBreck Scholarship:
Awarded to a junior or senior majoring in K-12 Physical Education with a minimum 3.25 GPA. Preference will be given to individuals who have shown the following: Strong interest in teaching physical education to elementary school students. Evidence of successful volunteer work with school-age youngsters. A commitment to the pursuit of international and/or cross-cultural experiences particularly involvement in International Travel, Study and/or Teaching Program experiences. Shown evidence of strong leadership and consensus building skills. A commitment to creative problem-solving and artistic endeavors.
Dan and Lori McGinty Scholarship:
Awarded to student admitted into the Teacher Education Program in a Health and Human Performance major with demonstrated involvement in co-curricular activities and/or community service.
Marcia Milbrath Scholarship:
Awarded to a full time student who is majoring in Health and Human Performance. The student must have graduated from a Wisconsin High School and preference will be given to a female undergraduate student. The student may be an Option 1, 2, or 3 Health and Human Performance major who will enrich and support the well being of others and who will help individuals live healthy, satisfying, and energetic lives. The student must demonstrate leadership abilities, teamwork abilities, and community involvement, etc. Must also exhibit a holistic commitment to physical activity and healthy lifestyle choices. The student must have attained sophomore, junior or senior status and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Emogene A. Nelson Scholarship:
Awarded to an HHP major with a minimum 3.2 GPA who has been admitted to Teacher Education and who has been actively involved in WAHPERD and other professional organizations and shows promise of success as a creative educational leader.
Elizabeth and John Oostendorp Scholarship:
Awarded to a student who has completed three semesters with a major in HHP; the second awarded to a woman who displays characteristics of leadership, excellence, and creativity.
Tamie Smith Memorial Scholarship:
Awarded to a student in the College of Education who is majoring in Physical Education.
