Before filling out the application please note these requirements:
You must apply separately for each scholarship. (Helpful hints are included on the application to make filling out multiple applications easier.)
)If you are currently receiving a "renewable" scholarship, you do not need to reapply for it. Your eligilibity will be determined at the end of the spring semester.
Information regarding your grade level, GPA and major do not need to be included in your application. We will collect that information from eSIS.
You must meet the requirements for the scholarship in order to be eligible. Below are explanations of key terms used in scholarship criteria. These explanations are used to determine eligibility.
- If the scholarship requires a minimum cumulative GPA (e.g. 3.0) then you must meet that minimum GPA at the time of appplication.
- If the scholarship states it is for a specific class year (e.g. sophomore), then you must meet the grade level requirement by the start the academic year in which you will recieve the scholarship. Of course, if scholarship criteria specifically states something to the contrary, then that criteria overrules this information.
- For reference: A sophomore must have 30 earned credits, a junior must have 60 earned credits, and a senior must have 90 earned credits by the time fall semester begins.
- If the scholarship criteria requires financial need, you must have completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the academic year in which the scholarship will be awarded. Your financial need will be determined based on your FAFSA by the Financial Aid Office. In general, you are considered to have need if your Expected Family Contribution (EFC) from your FAFSA is less than the estimated Cost of Attendance (COA).
- The essay section of the application is required for the application to be considered. Review the scholarship criteria to see if you need to answer a specific question. If not, please answer the essay by explaining what specifically makes you qualified for the scholarship and why you feel deserving to recieve the scholarship.
- The biography section of the application is required for the application to be considered. This section offers you the opportunity to share information about yoursef with the scholarship donor, should you recieve the scholarship. This information will not be shared with the selection committee.
