Incoming Freshmen Scholarships

Bark Family Memorial Scholarship:
This scholarship is awarded to incoming freshmen with a declared major in any College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences area.
CAFES Alumni Scholarship:
Awarded to an incoming freshman or transfer student. Student must be at least 25 years old or have parental responsibilities, at the time of application. Student must have a first major of CAFES. Student must provide graduating class size and rank, or evidence of GED, ACT or SAT test score and the year the test was completed, and a transcript from a post-secondary program/institution of higher learning(if a transfer student). Student must provide a statement of past experiences and future goals. This scholarship is renewable each year, for a maximum of four yearsbased on the following conditions: maintains first major of CAFES, reapplies annually, maintains a minimum course load of nine (9) credits per semester and has a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
CAFES Freshman Leadership Award:
Awarded to students who show the greatest potential to become future leaders in our society. Emphasis for selection will be based on demonstrated leadership in, but not limited to: (1) the arts, (2) athletics, and (3) community service. Students must have a first major in CAFES, must have a minimum high school GPA of 3.0, must have documented past and present leadership roles/activities and must have a clearly articulated vision of how the applicant will utilize their higher educational experience to enhance their leadership skills/abilities.
John E. Clemens Scholarship:
Awarded to an incoming freshman student who plans to continue his/her education at UW-River Falls and has a cumulative GPA between 3.00 and 3.50. Student may enroll in any major in the College of Agriculture, Food, and Environmental Sciences or pre-medical program. Preference will be given to graduates of the following Wisconsin High Schools: Bloomer, Chippewa Falls, New Auburn, or Tilden.
Hartung Brothers, Inc. Scholarship:
Awarded to new freshman with a declared major in Agricultural Business, Agricultural Education, Crop & Soil Science, Agricultural Engineering Technology or Horticulture. Must be active in either 4H, FFA, Ag Club or any other local agricultural-related organization.
Greg and Donnette Wheelock Agriculture Scholarship:
Awarded to a student majoring in CAFES in any field; preference given to student that has spent his/her pre-college years living and working on a farm; may be an incoming freshman or a freshman, sophomore, junior or senior standing undergraduate; cumulative GPA 2.667 or higher; continue education at UWRF; demonstrated financial need; everything else equal preference to Waseca County, Minnesota or Blue Earth County, Minnesota high school graduate; student must carry full work load if not employed with preference carrying heavy course load and/or involved in non-sports extra curricular activities exhibiting ambition, leadership or the good of others.
Wisconsin Livestock and Meat Council Scholarship:
These scholarships are awarded to entering freshmen from Wisconsin in the upper 50% of their high school class, who major in Animal Science, and have an interest in the livestock and meat industry.
